Boxed In, A Castle and Puppets
This lovely city (Ljubljana) with its chic canals flanked by bistros and cafes was a pedestrian delight.
The Ljubljana castle offered sweeping views of the city and a nice little history of its medieval roots.
We found a history of another kind there too. Puppets. They had “partisan puppets” used during WW II to mock Hitler and tell stories to encourage defiance of the dictator. A truly creative way to mount resistance in desperate times.
We have our Cube room tonight. A very small room with a coded door. Made us smile but we enjoy the clean ingenuity of it.

Tomorrow I restart hiking on the EPW And go to Bistra. Ljubljanica is on my list for another longer visit someday.
