Turtle at the Edge

My toes are tingling. That happens when I’m on the edge of a new adventure – or a cliff. There is that breathtaking moment before we take an action, whether it is diving into water or stepping outside. I think I’m ready for this journey and I’m excited to get started.

I’ve been occupying my time with widgets and things to lighten my load. I have to be an efficient turtle these next several weeks. Efficient but prepared and that balancing act is tricky. So here’s my packing for my “shell.

I’ve picked a 28L woman’s Jade Gregory backpack. It meets flight carryon requirements (no checking luggage for me this time) and keeps me mindful. I splurged on a few items as we all do. Keyboard (foldable/ Bluetooth) to type in my blog on my phone and some good earplugs. I am staying after walking the Camino Portuguese – for two more weeks so I did take a few items for leisure too. I’ll link this blog to my list that I packed. Hopefully I’ve done well.

I’ve kept liquids to a minimum with some solid shampoo/soaps. Its the little stuff that seems to bloom and multiple. I repacked 4 times. But Now I’m pretty happy with the result. My pack is 13.6 pounds with 1 lb for a purse (yes) and 1 lb for jackets. img_8770

My T-shirts are merino wool, and I’ve tried them out with my fleece jacket and raincoat. Pretty comfy and easy to peel off if I get too warm. This time of year in Portugal looks cool early in the morning and warm later in the day. I’m only taking a sleep sack for my sleeping cover in the Alburgue’s/ Hostels. Check out my packing list to get more details.

I’m ready to go and hope you’ll follow my adventure or better yet, consider doing your own! Right now, I’m a tired turtle with an early flight so close this post with a Buen Camino!
