Each year is a throw down challenge of “what to do this year”? Last year I challenged myself to 52 hikes in 52 weeks. Checking off items on my list is not my forte’ but looking to challenge and push myself in new ways is, to me, exciting.
I completed the 52 hikes in 52 weeks in 2019, not repeating any one hike. I gave it a boost by taking on the Camino Portugues, which accelerated the experience of the challenge. (and it was successfully completed by the end of the year!)

For this year, I’m working on Big and Little Adventures.

Little weekly “yeses” to try something new, or do something I’ve been procrastinating on. Like  reaching out to schedule a coffee with someone I’ve been swearing I would like to spend more time getting to know. Stepping out to go on local adventures. Writing more. Build a robot or a teapot.

Big adventures and discoveries. Currently I have two adventures on the radar. An adventure to Germany with a long time friend, and another longer distance hike in Ireland. Through the planning, I see other adventures I never new were available, so I’m seeing new opportunities for adventure next year.

I’m going to log my yeses and adventures as they come along. And I’ll write about them too. No rules really to this year of Little & Big Adventures. Just awareness that there are 52 weeks of opportunities to see the world a little differently and to let myself be changed by them. Maybe it will change you too.
